Sheer & Blockout Curtains for a Heritage Kew Home
A restored Edwardian home in Kew needed curtains that would respect the period architecture while bringing warmth and modern liveability to every room.
Restoring a heritage home is one thing. Furnishing it in a way that honours the original character while feeling comfortable to live in is quite another. The owners of this Kew Edwardian had done a beautiful job with the renovation — the curtains were the final chapter.
We worked closely with their interior designer to select fabrics that complemented the restored cornices and ceiling roses. In the formal rooms, we specified floor-to-ceiling sheer curtains in a natural linen weave. In the bedrooms, we layered sheers with a heavyweight blockout behind.
The motorised tracks in the master bedroom were a late addition — once the owners experienced the difference on a trial window, they immediately extended it to every room. The result is a home that feels genuinely looked after.
